What is 'Our Future Bundanoon'?

The idea for 'Our Future Bundanoon' website came about as the result of a gathering of several passionate and community minded people who were interested in creating a greater community cohesion in the community of Bundanoon as well as being concerned about the future growth of Bundanoon in the next 5, 10, 15 and 20 years.

On Sunday 29th May between 1:00 and 5:30 pm the Bundanoon Hall was the venue for The Big Event where interested members of Bundanoon community could gather for an 'Open Space' forum. Out of this afternoon several groups were created that are the foundation or bare bones of potential working projects in the community.

What might the future have in store for Bundanoon?

• our population will double (at some point) to around 5000 people
• there will be more vehicles on the road and more congestion and parking challenges in the town centre
• fuel prices will continue to rise with frequent trips to Moss Vale, for example, adding to household bills
• energy prices will rise as will the desire to find more economic and sustainable energy sources locally

• will we be able to maintain and build upon our strong sense of community?
• will we be able to preserve the much-admired "look and feel" of our place?
• will we be able to create more jobs locally and strengthen our local economy?
• what new services and amenities will be needed in the town?
• will our natural and built environment be able to adapt in time?
• will we create a good legacy for the next generation?

None of us has a crystal ball, but we all have a stake in the town's future, and we all have a say in what kind of town we want to have, and a role in making it happen.
